Elisabeth Montabone, French soprano of Italian origin
She began her musical training as a violinist, earning a Diplôme d'Études Musicales with honours from the jury. She played with numerous youth orchestras, including the Franco-German Youth Orchestra (Paris–Berlin tour), Les Jeunes Cordes de France (Algeria and Corsica), and the Musique en Ré festival orchestra — as well as on pop stages, performing at the Nuits de Fourvière in Lyon alongside Vanessa Paradis and Jeanne Cherhal.
Singing then became an evident calling. In 2022, she completed a Master Concert at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne, in the classes of Stephan MacLeod and Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet.
At the Opéra de Lausanne, she performed the role of the Siren in Handel's Rinaldo, under the direction of Andrea Marcon (2021), and later the role of the woman of Cully in Christian Favre's Davel (2023). During her studies, she also sang in the Opera's chorus for twelve productions, working alongside stage directors (Olivier Py, Stefano Poda, Adriano Sinivia...) and internationally renowned conductors (Arie Van Beek, Jean-Yves Ossonce, Diego Fasolis, Gavriel Heine...). She also led numerous workshops and recitals for young audiences, introducing them to the backstage world of opera and its many crafts.
In Italy, she sang the title role in Handel's Alcina (staged by Dario Innella), then Nero in Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea, during the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Saluzzo Opera Academy. She has received scholarships from the Canto Zagreb, Saluzzo Opera Academy, and Bologna Opera Academy, and has furthered her training in masterclasses with conductors Leone Magiera, John Fiore, Nicoletta Conti, and Peter Leonard, as well as singers Anna Maria Panzarella, Guenko Guechev, Jennifer Larmore, Leontina Vaduva, and Marie-Ève Munger.
In December 2025, she recorded as a soloist in Bordeaux for the video game Minecraft, in a style blending lyrical singing, metal, and electronic music.
Since 2025, she has been a member of the Lyricando company in Paris, where she plays Mimì in Puccini's La Bohème, directed by Carmelo Agnello.
